University of Delaware welcomes alumni back to Newark

Over 2,000 graduates from the University of Delaware are back on campus for the third annual alumni weekend.

If you are on the Newark campus you can’t miss the event.  A 32,000 square foot tent covers the main green.  Cindy Campanella, the director of alumni relations at the University says the tent area will hold several events through the weekend including a concert Friday night and a Beer tasting session sponsored by Dogfish Head brewery on Saturday.

The weekend comes a week after graduation on campus.  Alumni are given a chance to visit the various schools on campus.  There’ll be a 5k run on Saturday.  Various classes will also be holding reunions. The class of 1961 will hold a 50th reunion get together.  Also the classes of ’86, ’91, ’96, ’01, and ’06 will hold a 25th, 20th, 15th, 10th, and 5th reunion gathering.

Information on parking and events can be found on the University of Delaware website.
