Unions plan tough response to criticism over Convention Center

    After a report’s finding that the high labor costs could cripple the Pennsylvania Convention Center, labor organizations are planning a tough response.

    Heard in City Hall reports that a heap of union officials will “assail” Convention Center “mismanagement” at a 2:30 p.m. press conference tomorrow.

    The labor controversy comes as workers are finishing up the expansion of the Convention Center, which is expected to open in the spring, opening the possibility of much large conventions in Philadelphia.
