UD named an ‘up and coming’ school by U.S. News & World Report

UD makes the top ten of a list of schools “worth watching.”

The University of Delaware lands at number eight on the magazine’s list of up-and-coming universities.  The magazine defines up-and-coming schools as institutions “that are making improvements in academics, faculty, students, campus life, diversity, and facilities. These schools are worth watching because they are making promising and innovative changes.”

Drexel University in Philadelphia was in a three-way tie for second place on the up-and-coming list along with Arizona State University and Northeastern University in Boston.  The University of Maryland- Baltimore County was number one on the up-and-coming list.

Overall, UD placed 75 among all schools, public and private in the Best Colleges category.  The top spots went to Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Stanford, and the University of Pennsylvania.

The magazine’s website has a comparison feature to examine not only Delaware higher ed institutions, but a school versus school breakdown as well.  Click here to see the site’s comparison of Delaware’s higher education offerings.
