Tyler Clementi’s parents return to Rutgers for social media symposium

Joseph and Jane Clementi will return to Rutgers University today a little more than a year after their son killed himself there.

Tyler Clementi took his own life after his roommate allegedly used a webcam to film Clementi’s intimate encounter with another man.

Now his parents, as the Associated Press reports, are attending the university’s symposium on the use and misuse of social media and bringing the message “change begins with you.”

The Clementi parents are starting a foundation to address cyberbullying, and have co-sponsored the symposium.
