Two more Montco officials will lose their jobs

Two more Montgomery County officials will lose their jobs, but commissioners say the decision is a way for newly elected officers to bring in their own team.

Commissioners Chairman Joseph Hoeffel told the Inquirer no one has been fired, while Commissioner Bruce Castor said the board wants to get rid of traces of the Matthews “taint.”
But the announcement comes soon after Commissioner Jim Matthews was charged with perjury. Montco D.A. Risa Vetri Ferman said Matthews lied to a grand jury about his relationship with a title company that does business with the county.

Planning Commission Director Kenneth B. Hughes and COO Robert W. Graf will lose their jobs, as will Human Resources Director Eleanor Schneider, Purchasing Department head F. Thomas Snyder, Chief Financial Officer Randall Schaible and Public Property’s Fred J. Shaughnessy.
