Tropical Storm Claudette forms, will not impact United States

    Tropical Storm Claudette, the third named storm of the 2015 Atlantic hurricane season, formed this morning.

    According to the National Hurricane Center, the tropical cyclone is situated about 290 miles south-southeast of Nantucket, Massachusetts and moving toward the northeast at approximately 15 miles per hour. 

    Forecasters say that Tropical Storm Claudette will continue heading out to sea, with no impact on the United States. 

    The storm is expected to weaken by tomorrow morning and become a post-tropical cyclone later in the day.

    The Atlantic basin has been quiet so far this season due to wind shear and dry air from Africa inhibiting cyclone development, according to AccuWeather.com
