Travel + Leisure declares Philly second-best burger town

Shake Shack isn’t even open yet, and Travel + Leisure has named Philadelphia the second-best burger city in the country.

That’s probably no surprise to people who frequent Village Whiskey, or Rouge or Hickory Lane, or even Square Burger in Franklin Square Park.

Placing first was Providence, Rhode Island. Philly finished just ahead of Chicago, which was followed by Houston.

It’s a certainty that none of the other honorees can also boast the best grilled-meat sandwich in the history of the universe.
