Thunderstorms are possible through tomorrow as steamy weather continues its grip on the region.

According to the National Weather Service, any thunderstorms that develop could potentially produce heavy rain leading to localized flooding.

“Poor drainage and urban areas have a higher risk,” a National Weather Service briefing advises.

Additionally, the storms, which could spark between the mid afternoon and late evening hours today, might generate strong damaging winds. The risk is highest to the west and lowest at the Jersey Shore.

According to NOAA, the highest chance of thunderstorms and precipitation is today. The risk decreases tomorrow, although a chance will remain through the evening hours.

A slightly cooler and drier air mass will arrive for Sunday.
