Thousands expected for ’12 Mummers Parade
A Philadelphia tradition continues Sunday as thousands are expected for the 2012 Mummers Parade.
The parade, set to begin at 10 a.m., starts in South Philadelphia and travels up Broad Street to City Hall.

Along with the parade, two ticketed competitions are scheduled for Sunday at the Pennsylvania Convention Center at noon and 5 p.m.
Visitphilly.com has some advice for you if you plan to attend the parade. The visitors experts recommend you leave your car behind and take public transportation if you’re traveling from outside of the city.
If you plan to watch the parade from the sidewalk, it’s recommended you arrive early and set up near a drill location, where marching String Bands and Fancy Brigades will stop to perform.
