‘The Onion’ ends print edition in Philadelphia, D.C.

    Onion, ye hardly knew ye.

The satirical newspaper is cutting ties with Philadelphia, following the exit of its arts & culture publication, AV Club.

The Onion launched a Philadelphia print edition last year, and President Steve Hanna predicted then that, “Philadelphia will finally have America’s finest news source and probably get closer to the truth than they’ve ever been before.”
The paper is also cutting its D.C. print edition, according to BuzzFeed, and many of its remaining writers are leaving instead of relocating to Chicago in July.
