Temple’s delays send mixed messages to students

Temple University delayed classes today, beginning operations at 10 a.m. Yesterday, the school opened on time despite the bumpy, icy road conditions and transit delays. And the students are pissed.

Philly Post contributor and Temple professor Erica Palan can relate. She blogged yesterday about Temple’s seemingly baseless decision to open on time yesterday, despite its students’ and faculty’s heavy reliance on public transit and cars to make it to campus.

Perhaps someone got the message? The campus won’t open until 10 today. The tweeters, however, aren’t pleased — #temple brings up several disgruntled students who feel today’s delay is a sorry attempt to make up for yesterday.
