T206 Honus Wagner baseball card sells for $2.1M in N.J.

    In 1909, the American Tobacco Company printed what’s known as the T206 Honus Wagner baseball card without the baseball player’s permission.

    The card sold for $2.1 million recently at New Jersey’s Goldin Auctions in West Berlin.Wagner, “The Flying Dutchman,” played mostly for the Pittsburgh Pirates, and was one of the first MLB players inducted into the Hall of Fame.

    The card, seen here on the Star-Ledger’s website, is one of only about 50 copies.
