Sweeney’s website compares his public employee plans to Christie’s

All over the country it’s Democrats vs. Republicans, private vs. public. It’s no different in New Jersey. N.J. Senate Pres. Stephen Sweeney has created a website to cut through the tension and myths and lay out the differences between his plan for public employee benefits and Gov. Chris Christie’s plan.

“I am confident that when provided with the facts, rank-and-file public employees will come to realize that reform is essential to ensuring they actually can rely on the benefits they have been promised and deserve,” Sweeney said.

The New Jersey Pensions and Benefit Reform site is now home to the side-by-side layout of both plans. Want to know what both have to say about pension calculation? Click on “Pensions,” scroll down and read a brief overview of Sweeney’s and Christie’s proposals.

“This site cuts through the static and myths to provide a simple, nonpolitical side-by-side comparison,” Sweeney said. It also includes a running list of media coverage of the different proposals floating around.”
