Suspect robs two Philly banks in same day

Philadelphia Police and the FBI are searching for a suspect who investigators say allegedly robbed two Center City banks in the same day.

According to police, a man attempted to rob the Bank of America branch located on the 1800 block of E. Allegheny Avenue shortly after 12 p.m. Monday.  Police believe the same man also robbed the PNC Bank branch located on the 900 block of Walnut Street inside the Wills Eye Hospital at 2 p.m.

Police say in both of the robberies, the suspect handed tellers demanding notes.

The suspect only got away with money after the second robbery.  The man was last seen in a parking lot on the 800 block of Sansom Street.  Police describe the suspect as a white man in his 40’s to 50’s who is 5’8″ to 5’9″ tall with a stocky build.
