Suicide rates on the rise in US, but shame continues to surround the issue

    Suicide rates have been rising for the last decade, and suicide is among the top ten causes of death in this country.

    Despite the high incidence, the topic is still surrounded by shame and silence. In their weekly conversation, WHYY’s Behavioral Health reporter Maiken Scott and psychologist Dan Gottlieb discuss how suicide affects those left behind.
