Sugarhouse winners fall victim to serial robbers at home

At least eight casino winners have fallen victim to attacks in what Philadelphia police are calling serial robberies.

The first attack is believed to have happened on June 19. Since then the thieves have targeted the “lucky” winners: they were followed from the Sugarhouse Casino to their homes where they were then ambushed and robbed.

According to Philly.com, the robbers used a Taser in two of the incidents, struck one victim with a brick, punched and kicked another, and hit one in the head. All but one of the victims was Asian and other than the men being black, descriptions of the attackers vary.

The robbers have taken nearly $45,000 in all. Police are also investigating recent muggings to see if there is any connection to the robberies.
