Study: New Jersey ranks in top 5 for holiday weight gain

New Jersey men could gain an average of .91 pounds while the state’s women could gain an average of 1.31 pounds over the holidays – that’s according to a report from weighttraining.com, which ranks the states that will gain the most holiday weight.

According to the study, New Jersey ranked second in holiday weight gain behind Texas. Arizona, Oklahoma and Kansas rounded out the top 5. Delaware and Pennsylvania sat near the bottom of the list with the least weight gain expected over the holiday.

Weightraining.com says it used a study from “America’s Health Rankings” and information from the New England Journal of Medicine to help put together its study.
