Study by Camden Diocese finds low mass attendance, lack of faith

The Diocese of Camden is disappointed in its parishioners. Or, more accurately, its potential parishioners.

A recent study found that of the people in the area who define themselves as Catholic, only about half attend mass on a regular basis. And even fewer remember the ins and outs of the faith.
According to a Gloucester County Times report, the diocese will use the study to help guide it in a new direction that includes more youth-oriented activities and a refresher course in what Catholicism is all about.

The $25,000 study reached 612 sample residents from Gloucester, Salem, Cumberland, Camden, Cape May and Atlantic counties.
