Stormy weather can’t halt U.S. Open for long

Within two hours of play on Thursday morning, severe thunderstorms and heavy rain halted the first round at the U.S. Open in Ardmore, Pa. The weather sent golfers and spectators scurrying for cover, reports the Associated Press.

Play was set to resume in the afternoon, when the storm has passed the Merion Golf Club.
