Still playing the school shooting ‘blameless game’

School shootings hardly qualify as news anymore, now that they’ve become so frequent. The latest, on Tuesday, in Roswell, N.M., left an 11-year-old boy in critical condition, and a 13-year-old girl listed in satisfactory condition. The shooter was allegedly a 12-year-old boy.

Major links in the chain from manufacturer to mayhem remain, at least in their own eyes, blameless. This drawing, from the archive, was published in March 2001.
