Stenographer machines stolen from Philadelphia City Council

Some time in the last five days, two stenographer machines were stolen from Philadelphia City Council Chambers.

That ought to complicate today’s budget hearings.

Heard in the Hall reports the Property and Public Works hearing was delayed this morning because of the theft.

The machines, valued at several thousand dollars each, were stolen some time between the last hearing Thursday and 10 a.m. this morning. Council hearings will continue, as they’re recorded to DVD for posterity.
