Star-Ledger asks readers to name the New Jersey heat wave

Sometimes it’s hard to cleverly name something. We can’t all take credit for “snowpocalypse” and “snowmageddon.”

But the Star-Ledger’s weather guy is too hot to come up with a name for the New Jersey heat wave, so he’s asking readers instead. Readers who submit the best names for this oppressive heat will get Star-Ledger umbrellas to keep the cool and dry.

Commenters have suggested the following: Stew Jersey, Jersey Scorch, Heatzilla and Humisery Eleven. One reader offered up the nickname “Summer.” We’ll chalk the sarcasm up to heatstroke.
