St. Christopher’s hospital to get $110M million expansion

    Tenet Healthcare Corp. has announced a $110 million expansion that will bring a new critical-care tower to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia.

    The project also will include for a new Center for the Urban Child, a community-based initiative designed to help the children of Philadelphia break the cycles of food insecurity, violence and childhood illness. The center will be in a new 30,000-square-feet medical office building located on the hospital’s main campus in North Philadelphia.

    The project would increase the number of beds from 189 to 226.

    “This is a proud moment for Tenet and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children,” Trevor Fetter, Tenet’s president, said in a press release.
