St. Basil Academy hosts second open house for transfer students

St. Basil Academy in Jenkintown, Montgomery County, will hold a second open house next week for high school transfer students.

The all-girls private school held the first transfer open house last month, just weeks after the Blue Ribbon Commission recommended that the Archdiocese of Philadelphia close four of its high schools, including the Northeast’s St. Hubert’s. About 50 families attended the first open house.

“Saint Basil Academy opens its doors to parents and young women who want to continue their pursuit of academic excellence in an all-girl, Catholic academy,” the school announced. It will offer tuition incentives for qualified students whose parents have grown accustom to the less expensive parochial school tuition.

Students and parents are invited to visit St. Basil’s Friday, Feb. 24 between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. to meet the administrators, sit in during classes and tour the building with current students. Visitors can RSVP at (215) 885-6952 or mwalsh AT stbasilacademy.org.
