Police are looking into an early morning shooting that left one man dead and another wounded.

According to Delaware State Police at approximately 12:39 a.m., shots were fired at the Shades of Blue Bar and Grill on Governor Printz Boulevard in Wilmington. That’s where detectives reportedly came across a large crowd in the parking lot and learned that an unknown suspect had shot two men inside of the bar before fleeing the scene.

Investigators said one of the victims was transported to the Christiana Hospital Trauma Center where he was pronounced dead. At this time, the name of the victim is being withheld until next of kin is notified.

As for the second shooting victim, he was taken to the hospital by a private vehicle where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

“The investigation is in its early stages and so as to not jeopardize the investigation, specific details will not be released at this time,” said Delaware State Police Homicide Unit in a press release.

Meanwhile, anyone with information related to this incident is urged to contact the Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
