Shipwreck exhibit preview presentation

A special sneak peak of the shipwrecked HMB DeBraak will be held for members of the media today in Lewes.

The exhibit will officially open to the public on June 4.  Visitors to the shipwreck facility at Cape Henlopen State Park will be able to see the ship that was raised from beneath the waters off of Delaware’s coast after sinking in 1798.  The British sloop of war was escorting a convoy of British and American merchant ships when it capsized and was lost.   The state acquired the recovered hull and other artifacts in 1992.
