Severe Thunderstorm Watch up for most of the Jersey Shore
Scattered thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening, forecasters advise.
The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for South Jersey, including Ocean, Atlantic, and Cape May counties.
It’s in effect until 9 p.m. today.
The storms will likely develop amid the current heat and humidity, tracking southeastward after formation.
Some of the storms could produce damaging wind gusts, large hail, brief poor drainage flooding rains, and dangerous cloud to ground lightning, according a National Weather Service bulletin.
A similar threat is possible on Thursday.
