PHS Fall Garden Fest
Saturday, September 22, 9am-5pm. Navy Yard. The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s Fall Garden Fest returns with a day full of plants, workshops, music and food at the Navy Yard. Pick up plants or trees, enjoy fall harvest contests, and live demonstrations. Admission is free and open to the public, PHS members get special swag.
12th Street Arts & Brews Festival
Saturday, September 22, 12-8pm. North 12th Street between Brandywine and Green streets. PhilaMOCA and The Industry Bar are throwing a block party with live music, food, craft and art vendors. Free.
40th Street Summer Series: Warriors of the Wonderful Sound perform John Coltrane’s A Love Supreme
Saturday, September 22, 6pm. 40th and Walnut streets. Bobby Zankel is joined by fellow saxophonists Odean Pope and Dave Liebman to play the entirety of John Coltrane’s record, A Love Supreme, in celebration of Coltrane’s birthday. Free.
