SEPTA to sell last of its old Silverliners as scrap

Today’s the last ride for two of SEPTA’s old Silverliner models.

Outdated Silverliner II and III trains will make their final trips today before they go to a scrap yard.
The sleeker, quieter Silverliner Vs are coming in, making the older models from the ’60s look even clunkier by comparison. After their final rides today, the trains will be sold for $2,300 each to a Newark, N.J., scrap yard.
