Senate hearing scheduled for Pedro Ramos’ SRC nomination

The Pennsylvania Senate looks ready to move on the June nomination by Gov. Tom Corbett of Pedro Ramos to the Philadelphia School Reform Commission.

The Notebook reports the Senate Education Committee confirms a hearing is set for Monday. Ramos was nominated over the summer, and is expected to be the SRC chair. Until his nomination is approved though, new SRC member and Rutgers-Camden Chancellor Wendell Pritchett is the interim chair.

Corbett has also named former William Penn Foundation head to the SRC, though it’s not clear when her nomination will go before the Senate.
