Sen. Casey says time to focus on infrastructure
ListenA U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania is pushing President Donald Trump to get moving on a major campaign promise — to rebuild in the nation’s infrastructure.
Sen. Bob Casey stood next to a picture of the fractured bridge joining the New Jersey and Pennsylvania turnpikes saying President Trump has to worry about fixing the infrastructure of the country immediately.
“It does not matter a little bit about how many people you had at your inauguration and going after the press about it,” Casey said. “I hope he can focus on infrastructure. Give us a plan that both parties can support.”
Casey says fixing aging infrastructure can help the economy, as it did during the depression.
“When Franklin D Roosevelt did it in the 1930’s it not only helped us dig out of the depression, it gave us a foundation for economic growth that we’re still benefitting from.”
Trump has called for spending $1 trillion repairing the country’s crumbling infrastructure.
