Second suspect surrenders in Germantown bystander shooting

A 33-year-old Germantown man surrendered to police around 11:30 a.m. Thursday after he was named as a wanted suspect in the case of a Morton Street grandmother being shot as she lay in bed last week.

Kairi Harris, of the 400 block of E. Rittenhouse St., turned himself in to Northwest Detectives a day after another man — 23-year-old Ahmae Harris — was arrested.

On Dec. 23, a 53-year-old woman was shot in the face by a stray bullet involved in gunfire outside the home in which she reportedly watched young children while their parents were at work. She is still recovering at Albert Einstein Medical Center from what police termed serious injuries.

Both suspects were charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and related charges.
