Scenes from the East Falls Bridge Dance [photos]

The East Falls Bridge, typically busy with traffic from cars and bicycles was closed down Saturday night for party goers to enjoy food, music and dancing at the third annual East Falls Bridge Dance.

Sponsored by The East Falls Development Corporation and East River Bank, organizers expanded the seating layout and arranged for food trucks instead of a traditional dining experience. One of the event’s hallmarks was a silent auction to benefit The Fairmount Park Conservancy. In addition, proceeds from ticket sales will go on to improve the East Falls neighborhood streetscapes, signage and to spur business development.

Michelle and Joe Conners of Chestnut Hill attended the event for the first time after hearing about the soirée from a friend. They were gearing up to hit the dance floor and perhaps learn the tango.

“It’s great, we drive over the bridge all the time and it never seemed so long!”
