Santas bike through Philly to deliver toys
“Santas can come on a bike as well as a sled,” said Dranoff Properties President Carl Dranoff. “It’s just as good!”
Employees of Dranoff Properties dressed as santas Friday morning and donned bikes to deliver toys to Catholic Social Services in Philadelphia.
Dranoff also presented Bishop McIntyre with a thousand dollar check for North Philadelphia’s Casa Del Carmen, which offers support to Latino immigrants in the city.
Dranoff said that he and the company wanted to help children in need but also wanted to promote bike riding. He credited advertising mogul Brian Tierney with the idea for the ride.
McIntyre was on hand to greet the riders and said that the children of Casa Del Carmen would be very grateful. Dranoff said that he hopes to make the ride a tradition. “Im sure we made quite an impression this morning,” he said, “and it shows that people can ride bikes in Philadelphia and at the same time help out needy children.”
