Ryerss Museum and Library to hold weekend antique appraisal

Do you enjoy the Antiques Road Show? Have an item passed down from generation to generation or picked up that unique piece at a flea market?

The Friends of Ryerss Museum and Library are hosting a antiques appraisal day on March 17 from noon to 3 p.m. Appraisers from Barry S. Slosberg will be available to those desiring to find out if that heirloom or found item has a monetary value. All items are welcome except books, coins, stamps and weapons. Photographs of items are acceptable.

George Wylesol, President of The Friends of Ryerss is pleased with this new event.

“The Antiques Appraisal Event is part of our broader program to open the museum up to members of the community with a range of cultural and practical events that we hope they will enjoy,” he said. Wylesol added that visitors to the museum continues to increase over last year.

Admission to the antiques appraisal event is $20.00 per person or $30.00 for two. Tours of the museum are free. To register to attend the event or obtain additional information you can email friendsofryerss AT yahoo.com.
