Rutgers-Camden adds grad student housing to campus

The building slated to open next summer has been a long time coming for Rutgers-Camden. It’ll be the first student housing building to go up since 1989.

That time gap itself is old enough to be a grad student, and that’s who’s going in the new space. The 12-story, $55 million building will house 350 grad students in 102 three- and four-bedroom units and is expected to open in August 2012.

Chancellor Wendell Pritchett says he intends to grow the campus’ enrollment to 7,500 with about 2,000 living on or near campus.
