A rocket launch dazzled sky-gazers throughout the region last night

    The Antares rocket blasted off Monday night around 7:45 p.m. Eastern at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility near Chincoteague Island, Virginia.
     
    The rocket carried Orbital Sciences Corporation’s Cygnus cargo spacecraft, loaded with approximately 5,100 pounds of cargo, to the International Space Station, according to a NASA release.

    It was spotted throughout the region as it ascended to space.
