Right NEast/Wrong NEast: When you start in the wrong ZIP code, things won’t end well

First of all, CBS3, 19124 is not Mayfair.

Somehow every news outlet in Philadelphia but you managed to determine that Large and Pratt streets intersect in Northwood.

Not Mayfair.

So when a 10-year-old was hit by a car after school, and CBS rushed to alert everyone that a Mayfair child had been struck, parents in that neighborhood had to scramble to account for their kids.

Here are three clues that should have made you aware you were doing it wrong:

The intersection is a block from where the Northwood Civic Association meets.

The intersection is in 19124, a ZIP code that does not include Mayfair.

The intersection is near Frankford Playground, High School and Hospital (you could have at least have gotten a closer by wrong neighborhood).

Outside media don’t care about the Northeast. We have all seen them misuse, misspell and mistake our neighborhoods and our streets, so we at NEast Philly wanted to do something about it. When they get it wrong, we set it right in a segment we like to call Right NEast/Wrong NEast.
