Reward offered for information on starved Delaware County dog as volunteers hunt for the perp

Delaware County is rallying around Curious George — an emaciated dog found Monday near Duffer’s Mill.

A $1,000 reward is now being offered for information on George’s owners, and several volunteers will head out this weekend to search for clues in the area where George was found. Because the dog was found so thin — just 35 lbs. — SPCA officials believe he was purposefully being kept from food and water. Otherwise, George’s canine scavenger instincts would have kicked in.

The Delaware County Daily Times reports it could be five to 10 days to determine much recovery time George will need. Hes on a special diet and is being given fluids, and won’t be available for adoption until the SPCA clears him.
