UPDATE: Woman who reportedly drowned in Atlantic City was revived, police now say
A woman drowned off an unguarded Atlantic City beach Monday evening, The Press of Atlantic City reports.
City firefighters and lifeguards responded to the South Carolina beach around 7 p.m. and saw a woman floating face down about 150 to 200 yards off the shoreline, according to the report.
Firefighters were unable to resuscitate the unconscious woman after she was brought ashore by lifeguards, the report states.
She was apparently caught in a rip current, according to the report.
There was a moderate risk of rip currents Monday, the National Weather Service warned.
