Report: Whooping cough confirmed at Malvern high school

Great Valley High School in Malvern has confirmed the school has had two cases of whooping cough, Fox29 reports.

What begins with a cold-like cough can turn severe, and parents of young, un-immunized children are often told to keep their kids away from those infected for up to two weeks.

Earlier this month, Hunterdon County, N.J. saw what health officials called an usual number of whooping cough cases. Seven cases had been confirmed and five others were likely in the first days of 2012.
