Report tells the story of police crime and cover-up

    What prompted a young police officer to steal pieces of firearms, and did his superior cover it up?

    The Daily News today published an investigative report on allegations in the Philadelphia Police Department’s Firearms Identification Unit. Sources say Officer Anthony Magsam has confessed to stealing parts from two of the units automatic weapons, and then was protected by Lt. Vincent Testa, who helped Magsam get a transfer.

    Now internal affairs is probing the matter and Commissioner Charles Ramsey called for an audit of the FIU.
