Report: Kelly to work in D.C. after leaving Philadelphia Housing Authority

The Philadelphia Tribune has a few more details on why Michael Kelly is resigning as executive director of the Philadelphia Housing Authority.

It’s for family reasons, he told the paper, also saying the paper has been “especially gracious and fair with us.”

Update, 3:30 p.m. The Daily News reports Kelly will direct Washington, D.C.’s Department of Housing and Community Development.

News of Kelly’s resignation broke last week, but with no details. Kelly took over when former executive director Carl Greene left amid accusations of personal financial wrongdoings while at the authority’s helm.
