Report: Joe Banner out Eagles president

    Could it be?

The Inquirer reports Joe Banner is out as president of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Banner, who’s been with the team since players sported kelly green uniforms, will become an adviser to owner Jeffrey Lurie.

Lurie insists Banner wasn’t pushed out, and likens Banner to a free agent. Banner will be able to pursue other opportunities outside his advising role.

COO Don Smolenski will become president and General manager Howie Roseman will manage the team’s salary cap and contract negotiations.
