Remarks of Del. court shooter’s son at odds with feds

A federal indictment unsealed this week accuses David Matusiewicz and his family of conspiring for years to torment and stalk his ex-wife before his father fatally shot her at a Delaware courthouse.

But Matusiewicz recently said he still loved Christine Belford and had no idea his father was planning to kill her.

Matusiewicz also told The Associated Press that he and his family have been unfairly portrayed in the media, and expressed concern that authorities would try to blame him for the Feb. 11 shootings that left Belford, his father, and another woman dead.

Matusiewicz said that after arriving at the courthouse for a child support hearing, his father asked for the car keys and said he would meet him afterward. Matusiewicz said he heard gunshots a few minutes later.
