Registration ends today for Philadelphia’s Block Captain Boot Camp

You can’t just be a block captain. Unifying a block takes some work, so Councilman Curtis Jones and some other Philadelphia elected officials are hosting a Block Captain Boot Camp this weekend.

The fourth annual Boot Camp is an effort to revitalize some of the 4th Council District neighborhoods with the help of dedicated block leaders.

Beginning at 8 a.m. tomorrow, residents can attend the half-day camp to learn about how to be block captains and make their blocks eligible for “Best Block” status.

Jones is hoping residents of 19127, 19128, 19129, 19131, 19132 and 19151 will attend, and is encouraging residents to register prior to the event: (215) 686-3416.
