Red Cross sponsors walk/run for local disaster victims

Residents, businesses owners and dogs will walk and run Saturday morning to help victims of local disasters. The Southeastern Pennsylvania chapter of the Red Cross is sponsoring the ninth annual Walk and Run to Save Lives in Fairmount Park.

More than 600 people are expected to participate in the event that raises money to help provide shelter for local disaster victims.

Pat Croce and WOGL-FM’s Valerie Knight will be on hand, as will the Eagles cheerleaders to lead the way through the 5k course, which begins on Concourse Drive near Memorial Hall.
