Recent flooding in Pa. resulting in well water contamination

Recent flooding in the eastern and central parts of Pennsylvania is apparently causing problems for owners of private water wells.

The Daily Local News reports the recent flooding has resulted in the contamination of some private wells in the Chester County area.

The Daily Local News says there have been no contamination reports in Chester County specifically, however, health officials recommend you keep a close eye on your water.

Remnants of Hurricane Irene and heavy rain earlier this summer have allowed runoff to flow into the wells, contaminating them with chemicals, bacteria and sediment, among other things, according to The Daily Times.
