Race Street Connector points the way to the Delaware waterfront

Colorful lights signified the opening yesterday of the Race Street Connector, the improvement project that points commuters toward the Race Street Pier and Delaware waterfront.

Arrows, letters and lights pick up movements on the river, lighting the way toward the waterfront on what was formerly a dark stretch of Race Street under the I-95 overpass. NewsWorks partner PlanPhilly has video of the installation from last night’s opening ceremony, with remarks from the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation, Old City Civic Association and Mayor Michael Nutter.

Race Street Pier opened in May as part of continued efforts to make the Delaware more accessible.
