Just in time for the weekend, warmer weather is on the way.

    But that’s relative, of course.

Courtesy of a southwesterly flow, warmer air will filter into the region. High temperatures on Saturday and Sunday will hover around 40 degrees, with readings approaching the middle to upper 40s in southern shore areas Sunday, according to NOAA.

Expect more sunshine during the first half of the weekend.

Clouds will begin building Sunday afternoon ahead of an approaching system, which will likely deliver rain for Sunday evening into Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

As temperatures drop Monday night, a mix of rain and snow transitioning to snow is possible. By Tuesday, conditions begin to improve, and it will be breezy and cooler.
